Homelessness Services

The primary goal of the Homelessness Services is to help people stabilize their lives by connecting them with services and assist with finding affordable, adequate housing.
Stepping Stone Outreach

Stepping Stone Outreach provides supports and services using a Housing First approach for adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Services are provided through outreach and drop-in basis at community partners. Outreach Workers support people to connect with resources to help stabilize their life situations.

Preventative and support services include one-time crisis funding, financial assistance applications both provincial and federal, basic income tax filing and assistance with housing search by way of BC Housing applications and provision of weekly housing listings.

There are rent supplement programs available to help people obtain and/or maintain housing.

A Nurse Practitioner works with the Outreach Team at a community location one day a week to provide primary care.

Creek Stone Place Supportive Housing

Creek Stone Place is owned by BC Housing and operated by Stepping Stone Community Services Society. It provides 49 self-contained units with 24/7 on-site supports for people who are transitioning out of homelessness.

Supports include one hot meal a day, wellness checks, life skills training, connection and referral to community services and support groups. There is office space in the building for the Intensive Case Management Team.

All applicants must be over the age of 19 years, need additional support to maintain housing and be a Langley resident experiencing homelessness. Stepping Stone and BC Housing lead the resident selection process with local service providers to ensure an appropriate mix of residents.

The supportive housing uses a housing first approach that has demonstrated that people are more likely to seek services and take steps towards personal stability if they have a home. Participants sign a program agreement (similar to a tenancy agreement) and pay rent.
